  1. sorry about the championship. if its any consolation, the gators looked like they could have beat wooden's bruins or even the knicks--ok, definitely the knicks.

  2. Hey Pacifist. I'm a Bruin alum still in mourning over the butt-whoopin' we received.

I've been wondering- would I feel better or worse if UCLA had played a really tight game and then lost a heartbreaker in the final seconds? I think I'd feel better, but other people have made the argument that it's a lot easier to accept defeat when your team is clearly dominated early on.

    What are your thoughts?

  3. When the Vikings lose a close game, I am inconsolable--I spend a week thinking of the individual plays that cost the team the game, assigning blame, and desperately waiting for the next game. When they get blown out, I'm sort of distanced from it all by the end of the game.

I guess I'd say the same thing about the Bruins. When you have a whole game to resign yourself to the total beating, it's one thing. To live on the edge of your seat for a full game only to come up empty is the worst. I'm not torn up about Monday's game; I know the only thing that matters to UCLA basketball are championship banners, but it was a good run that just came up against a superior team.
